The Department of Transportation (DOTr) said on Thursday, June 27, that students will soon enjoy free rides from government-operated railway lines such as the LRT-2, MRT-3, PNR from Mondays to Fridays (except holidays) in given periods of time, as well as free terminal fees in airports and seaports across the country.
According to a report by Rappler, Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade said that students will get free rides at LRT Line 2 from 4:30 to 6:30 am and 3:30 to 5:30 pm. Lrt-1, however, will not offer free rides.

For MRT-3, students can avail of the free rides from 5 to 6:30 am and 3 to 4:30 pm
PNR will not only give free rides to students from 5 to 6 am and 3 to 4 pm. but will also give them the “anti-cut-off pass,” meaning students will be automatically part of the train ride and will not be allowed to be offloaded once the train is full.
The free train rides will be implemented starting July 1.
Meanwhile, terminal fees for students in 40 Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines-operated airports, as well as seaports will be waived within July.
