Jane De Leon earlier made it to the headlines after she was announced as the new Pinay superheroine ‘Darna’ after actress Liza Soberano exited from the project due to her finger injury.
While Jane has been undergoing training and preparations for her role, different speculations and issues about her have become a topic including her being “maldita”.

During her guesting in the late night show ‘Tonight With Boy Abunda,’ Jane addressed the issue about her alleged attitude and denied being “maldita”.
She explained: “Hindi po yun totoo. Lumalaban lang po ako kapag tama. Kasi first impression po talaga sa akin yun. Muka akong mataray, kahit pagod ako or inaantok ako. Kaya yung mga kaibigan ko sinasabi sakin, ‘Jane, okay ka lang ba? May problema ba? Bat parang galit ka, hindi ka okay?’ Sabi ko, ‘Guys, nagpapahinga lang ako. Okay ako.'”
Jane also responded to remarks about her acting abilities, saying: “Nagpapasalamat po ako sa mga nakakataas na may nakita po sila sa aking potensyal at pinagkatiwalaan po talaga nila ako and siyempre, ayoko po silang ma-disappoint. Ang masasabi ko lang po dun sa nagsabing puro ganda lang po ako at hindi po ako marunong umarte.. Watch out!”
