Actress Jessy Mendiola is set to have a television comeback after a few years of being in hiatus as she will be starring in the upcoming Kapamilya series ‘Sandugo’ together with Ejay Falcon, Elisse Joson, and Aljur Abrenica.
In her interview with ABS-CBN News and other members of the press during the media conference of the show, Jessy admitted that she became hesitant at first to accept the project.

She said: “Sobrang nanibago po ako. Ang totoo niyan, medyo hesitant po ako na mag-soap ulit, kasi nawala na ‘yung nakasanayan mo na nagte-taping ka palagi, tapos marami kang nakakatrabaho. Kaya sobrang naninabago ako noong first few taping ko.”
“Pero nagpapasalamat ako sa production, kay direk, na break it to me gently, nagdahan-dahan kami. Pero they guided me, parang bumalik ang passion, bumalik ang excitement,” Jessy added.
According to Jessy, it is better not to accept a project if an artist is not being given a chance.
“Pag may mga pagkakataon na feeling mo hindi ka nabibigyan ng (chance), hindi ka na nagkakaroon ng passion and excitement so might as well, huwag ka na lang tumanggap. Kasi you won’t be able to give your 100 percent, and unfair ‘yun sa mga katrabaho mo, sa boss mo, sa production,” she said.
Jessy then stated: “Para sa akin po as long as it excites me, as long as I have something to prove myself to, gusto ko pong tumanggap ng maraming magkakaibang role po.”
