Fans and followers of Actress Maxene Magalona were wowed as she flaunted her “bare face” look on her social media account.
In her Instagram account, Maxene posted a photo and a short video. Maxene shared that she felt insecure over the dark circles around her eyes and that is why wearing makeup became her daily routine. Maxene also shared her realizations as she revealed that she hasn’t been wearing any makeup for the past 7 months.

She wrote:
“For as long as I can remember, I’d been wearing makeup everyday as part of my job because I was always told that my eyes badly needed concealer. Having dark circles around my eyes made me feel very insecure so applying makeup became a part of my daily routine. However, no matter how much makeup I put on and how “glamorous” I looked, there was always a sadness in my eyes which no amount of cosmetics could ever conceal. Deep down inside I was miserable with myself and didn’t really like the person that I was for many years so I couldn’t bear to look at myself in the mirror. I had low self-esteem, zero self-respect and no idea about self-love.
Now I’ve realized that no amount of makeup can ever make me look good on the outside if I don’t feel and heal whatever is happening on the inside. I noticed that when I started developing a healthier relationship with myself by paying attention to my needs, caring for my body by working out regularly and eating nourishing food, setting personal boundaries and honoring them, talking to God everyday through meditation and prayer and just basically being my own best friend —the dark circles around my eyes began to lessen. It was as if the darkness in my life began to slowly fade away and I could finally see the light more clearly. All I needed to do was genuinely love myself.
I haven’t been wearing makeup here for the past 7 months as I choose to let my skin breathe and allow myself to feel comfortable just being the way that I am. This is how God made me and I’m proud of who I am —no matter how I look like. His love makes me beautiful. 🤍”
