Netizens expressed their admiration to Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto over her remark to Pasig City’s scholars. “Mayor Vico” trended on Twitter as netizens praised him following his remark.
In his Twitter account, Mayor Vico shared several photos taken during the virtual general assembly for Pasig City’s scholars. He tweeted “Night with the scholars… Pasig City Scholars’ G.A. (Batch 4)

Mayor Vico shared that he appreciated them for sending him their gratitude for their scholarship, but he admitted that he felt uncomfortable because it was not his own money that funded their education. Mayor Vico also reminded the students to study well as he wrote:
“Laging tandaan na wala kayong utang na loob kahit kanino (lalo na sa politiko) dahil pera ito ng taumbayan. Na-a-appreciate ko naman kapag may nagpapasalamat sa kin pero naiilang ako dahil di ko pera to.
Mag-aral lang kayo nang mabuti, sulit na ang investment ng Pasig sa inyo.”
