Talent manager Ogie Diaz shared his emotional meeting to his ‘alaga’ Liza Soberano who recently confirmed that she will no longer portray the role of the Pinay comic character “Darna” in its upcoming movie adaptation.
In a lengthy Facebook post, Ogie narrated how Liza opened up about her decision to back out from the role because of her finger injury which she got while doing the television series “Bagani”.

Ogie wrote: “‘Bakit?’
‘Ano’ng nangyari?’
‘Ayaw na niya?’
‘Sino na’ng kapalit?’
‘Sayang naman ‘yung Darna.’
“‘Yan yung madalas kong ma-encounter na tanong matapos magsalita ni Liza Soberano kay MJ Felipe sa “Tv Patrol” kahapon na she’s withdrawing from doing “Darna.”
“Ako bilang co-manager kay Liza, nalulungkot ako. Kasi, bongga sana ‘yung ‘Darna.’ Magiging bahagi sana ng history ng career ng aking alaga ang “Darna” na halos lahat ng aktres, gustong gawin ‘yan.
“Ilan na ‘yung artistang nag-audition para diyan, pero si Liza ang nakakuha ng role. Nu’ng una’y hindi pa nagsi-sink in sa kanya na siya na ang modern-day Darna, hanggang sa yakapin na niya ang naturang superhero character.
“Pinaghandaan ‘yan ni Liza. Pati mga gym workouts niya, ‘yung fight scenes training niya, ‘yung routines niya, lahat ‘yon, naka-sched araw-araw.
“Pero dahil sa nangyaring aksidente sa ‘Bagani’ last year kung saan napuruhan ang isa niyang daliri, ‘yung totoo, ‘yung Darna agad ang naisip namin ni Liza.
