Kapamilya star Janella Salvador expressed her honest thoughts and sentiments as she opened up on her ‘rocky relationship’ with her mother, Jenine Desiderio.
In the latest YouTube vlog of celebrated dermatologist and doctor to the stars Dr. Vicki Belo, she featured Janella for an interview. During the interview, Vicki and Janella talked about the latter’s relationship with her mother Jenine. Janella admitted that she has a ‘rocky relationship’ with her mother in the past.
“No naman na hindi close, it’s more of a rocky relationship. Di kami magkasundo with many things. But ever since I became a mom now, actually, I appreciated her more. And even if minsan di pa rin kami magkasundo, it’s more stable now, our relationship.” Janella shared.
“I guess it started not being stable when I was a teenager and I wanted to, you know, explore, have fun. And she was, she’s scared of letting go… I’m her only girl, so she was having a hard time with that, like she was having a hard time accepting that.” Janella added.
Janella also shared that maybe the reason why her mother was having a hard time letting her go was, she was very clingy to her mother when she was still a child.
“I entered showbiz when I was 14, so when I started meeting different people, parang, ‘Oh, some people do this pala. They have different lives pala. They party, ganyan ganyan.’ I never went through a party phase, just to be clear. But I just wanted to hang out with friends and have fun, and medyo naging strict ‘yung mom ko dati. It would reach a point na tatakas ako so she got mad.” Janella shared.
