Former Senator “Bongbong” Marcos filed his certificate of candidacy for President in the coming May 2022 nation election. Bongbong is running under the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas political party.
Bingbong ran for vice president in the 2016 election but lost to Leni Robredo.
Aside from being a former senator, Bongbong also served as a congressman representing Ilocos Norte, and also became the governor and vice governor of the same province.
On Instagram, Bongbong posted the following statement:
“I am today announcing my intention to run for the Presidency of the Philippines in the upcoming May 2022 elections.
I will bring unifying leadership back to our country. Hangad kong ibalik ang magpagkaisang paglilingkod na magbubuklod sa ating bansa.”
