Vice president-elect Sara Duterte-Carpio make good her promise to a student that she will attend her graduation ceremony in place of her mother who is Kuwait.
Duterte-Carpio stood by 16-year old Angel Mae Tayaba as she received her awards during the moving-up ceremony at the Virgen Milagrosa University Foundation-Special Science High School. Tayaba’s mother is in Kuwait working as a domestic worker and could not attend the event.
Tayaba wrote a letter to Duterte-Carpio requesting her to be present in her event to take the place of her mom.
“I was touched by her letter stating that her mom could not make it to her graduation. I said yes to the request and so here I am,” Duterte-Carpio said.
Netizens admired and praised Duterte-Carpio for keeping her word.
