Actress AJ Raval recently addressed online critics who came after her for participating in the viral 2026 TikTok trend, “I wish I met you earlier,” a format where users reflect on meaningful moments from their past.
In her post, AJ expressed appreciation for her relationship with Aljur Abrenica, sharing a simple message about mutual support and gratitude, noting that they continue to stand by each other through every stage of life.
However, the video quickly drew harsh reactions from some netizens, who flooded the comments with negative remarks.
One user attempted to dampen her happiness by warning her that sadness would soon follow. AJ fired back with a brief but pointed response, implying that such negativity would eventually return to the sender.
Another commenter accused AJ and Aljur of merely chasing attention online. Instead of engaging seriously, the actress replied with sarcasm, mockingly echoing the accusation to highlight how absurd she found it.
AJ also directly addressed a long-running allegation branding her a “kabit,” shutting it down by calling out how long the claim had been repeatedly thrown at her, making it clear she had grown tired of the baseless narrative.
“Di ka pa nagsasawa, Ate, 4 years mo ng sinasabi yan.” AJ replied.
AJ’s decision to push back against these narratives matters not because celebrities are special, but because silence has too often been mistaken for guilt. Speaking up is risky. It invites more scrutiny, more noise, more opinion. Yet it also draws a line. It says that dignity is not negotiable, even in a space that profits from outrage.
What AJ’s response reminds us is that boundaries are not arrogance. Defending yourself is not denial. And refusing a false narrative is not an attack, it’s self-respect. In an online culture that encourages piling on, choosing to stand your ground is a form of courage.
