Known affectionately to each other as “Friendship,” the Comedy Queen Ai-Ai delas Alas and the Queen of All Media Kris Aquino once ruled the airwaves together, sharing everything from blockbuster film sets to intimate family milestones.
However, as is often the case with high-profile relationships, the spotlight eventually gave way to a cold silence. Now, years after a public falling out that left fans heartbroken, Ai-Ai is choosing grace over old grudges.
During a recent press conference for her new project, Batang Paco, Ai-Ai revealed that she has personally reached out to Kris, who has been documenting her grueling battle with multiple autoimmune diseases in the United States.
“Sana OK sya. Si Kris ay naging part ng buhay ko. She’s my friendship. She’ll be my friendship kahit anong mangyari.” said Ai-Ai.
“Actually, nag-reach out ako sa kanya. Hindi ko alam kung nagbago na siya ng phone number.” Ai-Ai added.
Ai-Ai’s gesture marks a significant moment of maturity. By reaching out without the expectation of a reply, she has signaled that importance of forgiveness and true meaning of love.
For the Comedy Queen, the “chaos” of the past is exactly that, the past. As Kris Aquino continues her journey toward healing, she does so knowing that an old friend is in her corner, proving that even in the fickle world of celebrity, true “friendship” still exists.
