OPM band Ben&Ben singer Paolo Benjamin denounced the use of the word “bakla” as an insult as he appealed for respect in all genders most specially the LGBTQ+ community.
In a series of statements in his Twitter account, Paolo expressed his thoughts and opinions after he was criticized on his latest Instagram post. It was recalled that in his Instagram account, Paolo posted two photos. In one of the photos, Paolo was seen wearing a dress while in the second photo, he was wearing a blue shirt paired with gray pants. He captioned his post “be comfy in your own skin”. The said photos of Paolo caught the attention of netizens and some criticized him for wearing a dress.
In a series of tweets, Paolo expressed his thoughts and sentiments. Paolo also stoop up for the LGBTQ+ community as he tweeted:
“never assume anyone’s gender based on the clothes they wear. hay pilipinas, ang layo pa natin *sigh*”
