Actor Albert Martinez shared one of the most painful experiences on his life as he recalled the time when his wife, Liezl Martinez passed away in year 2015 because of cancer.
In the latest YouTube vlog of celebrated dermatologist and doctor to the stars Dr. Vicki Belo, she featured Albert for an interview. During the interview, Albert opened up about losing his wife Liezl because of cancer. According to Albert, he felt horrible when they found out that Liezel has cancer. He shared that he couldn’t sleep and eat and that is why he lost weight within two weeks.
Albert revealed that their family struggled financially because of the expensive treatment her wife had to go through. Albert also shared Vicki was among the people he asked for financial help.
“There was a point wherein nahirapan na rin ako financially. It was really hard. Actually, I got in touch with you that time…Yeah. Umabot na sa ganun na next procedure na niya, it’s like an arm and a leg na. Ganun kalaki yung expenses. Sabi ko sige, I’d rather lose everything…” Albert shared.
According to Albert, it also came to a point where he swallowed his pride as he asked for financial help to his father-in-law.
“She found this drug in spain that was supposedly good but the amount is huge. And that was the point na I swallowed my pride, I talked to my father-in-law. Sabi ko, ‘magtulungan nalang tayo.’ Kasi we really don’t have the funds to cover that… I have to talk to other friends also na hindi ko pa nakausap. Talagang you do anything for your wife, ganung type…” Albert shared.
