Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray expressed her thoughts and opinions regarding the statement made by President Rodrigo Duterte that the Presidency is not for women.
In an online interview with movie and television writer G3 San Diego for her online show “#LivewithG3”, G3 asked Catriona “President Duterte recently made a statement saying that women are not fit for the Presidency citing that women are built emotionally different from men. Which both our Vice President Leni Robredo and our current Miss Universe Philippines disagreed with. What can you say the statement that women are not fit for the Presidency?”
“I don’t think your capacity to be a leader is determined by your gender. I think it defined by the capabilities, skills and talents that you have, your experience, your character. I think all of those played part to be a good leader. It is not dependent on one’s gender at all.” Catriona answered.
