Daniel took to Instagram to express his gratitude to the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) and to everyone else who was involved in the rescue of animals, especially horses, from the eruption of the Taal Volcano.
When the Taal Volcano erupted last January, emergency responses were quick to cover the needs of communities. However, the emergency response for animals and pets was lacking. Many were left tethered to their original places and covered with ash in the aftermath of the eruption.

“Thank you so much @pawsphilippines and everyone involved in the rescue of the horses and other animals from the eruption of Taal volcano. Thank you for the initiative, kindness, time, effort, will and heart.” Daniel begins.
“Because of your collective effort, everyone of the horses are now 100 percent healthy and most importantly in their new forever homes.”
Daniel further expressed gratitude to his family for adopting eleven horses.
Daniel has not had a significant appearance in showbiz in the past few years. He has chosen to focus on his duties as a celebrity ambassador for PAWS Philippines, for which he received an honorary doctoral degree in Humanities.
