Dingdong Dantes to Jessica Soho’s Presidential interview: “Lumitaw yung may plano”

Kapuso star Dingdong Dantes expressed his honest thoughts and opinions regarding the GMA-7’s Presidential Interviews hosted by multi-awarded journalist Jessica Soho.

It can be recalled that in the said Presidential Interviews, Jessica had the chance to ask several questions to Presidential aspirants, Vice President Leni Robredo, Sen. Panfilo Lacson, Sen. Manny Pacquiao, and Manila Mayor Isko Moreno.

In his Instagram account, Dingdong made a commentary as he said that the said interview ‘highlighted’ the importance to ‘responsible journalism’. According to Dingdong, the interview is direct to the point. Dingdong also shared that he thinks that the upcoming national elections is ‘one of the most important elections of our lifetime’.

Dingdong also gave an advice to his fans and followers that while waiting for the national elections date, Filipinos ‘should continue looking for helpful and valid resources’ like what the Kapuso host and her team have delivered.

“Last night’s Presidential interview highlighted how responsible journalism can help shape perspectives & present reality. It started with candidness and evolved into an in-depth scrutiny of complex issues that were made simpler and easier to digest for Filipinos. Diretso sa punto. Walang paligoy-ligoy. It didn’t fail to layout the real situation of our country: from Climate Change…to poverty & corruption…to our COVID response.

It was also a much needed forum to level off the playing field as it put out hard but very important questions for our presidential hopefuls. Lumitaw ‘yung may plano. Naging obvious kung sino ang pasok sa iyong kasalukuyang hinahanap.

Having been born in the early 80’s, I think, this is one of the most important elections of our lifetime. Whoever we choose will dictate how we would recover from the global beating this pandemic has caused us.

Of course, I have my own preference. But this is a product of a process that I’d like to share with young people today.

PLAN.
Bago mamili ng iboboto, please make sure you do your research at siguraduhin ang integridad ng source of information. Hindi sapat na magsaliksik lang sa social media. Manood ng interviews kagaya na lang ng sa GMA. You have to go out there and search for what you think you and your country needs.

DISCERN.
Don’t look at winnability or popularity. Search for integrity, competence and commitment to the values of humanity. Be sensitive not only to your own circumstance, but also to the plight of your countrymen. Your generation and the next ones will depend on our decisions today.

ACT.
Lastly, go out and vote.Claim your role as responsible citizens. You have a role in our society’s quest 4 genuine good governance.

And while we wait for that big day, we should continue looking for helpful and valid resources such as what Jessica and her Team have delivered to us last night. We are what we consume. That’s why we have to be mindful of what we feed our mind. While everyone can be an agent of information dissemination in a highly globalized world, there are still institutions who are raising the bar for media and public service. Last night was a showcase of how it should be done.” Dingdong wrote in the caption.
