Frankie Pangilinan apologizes for her tweets on Dacera case: “i got caught up in the outrage”

Singer model Frankie Pangilinan apologized to netizens for her tweets about the Christine Dacera case. Frankie was one of the first celebrities who expressed her thought regarding the attendant case.

Dacera was found lifeless in a Makati Hotel after celebrating New Year with her male friends. Investigation is now ongoing to determine what really transpired during that night.

On Twitter, Frankie apologized for her tweet but maintained her position that rape will never be okay.

“i will withhold opinions until further, accurate information is dispersed, but i would like to apologize for the initial impassioned tweets here below :((( all my other sentiments, however, remain true — respect is better than protection, and rape is and always will be terriblePensive face”

“i got caught up in the outrage, i promise i’ll do better. i’ve deleted all of the misleading tweets but i stand by everything i said re: respecting girls, and i hope christine still gets the justice she deserves. it’s still a heartbreaking and gut-wrenching way to start the year.”

“before i sleep i’d just like to reiterate how absolutely sorry i am for helping to spread misinformation :(( the authorities’ statements were misleading and confusing (and still are) so i hope you can understand. regardless, rape will never be okay, though”
