Gary Valenciano talks about his health: “I’m not supposed to be around anymore”

Kapamilya star Gary Valenciano opened up about his health condition as she admitted that a doctor gave him a life span of 30 years after he was diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 14.

In an episode of ‘CinemaNews’ hosted by TV host Bianca Gonzalez, Gary was featured for an interview. During the interview, Gary expressed his utmost gratitude to God as he opened up about his health condition.

“From the said of diagnosis, ‘you have an average lifespan of 30 years.’ And I was 14, e that means I was at 44… Dapat medyo I have problems na with my eyes or with my nerves ending. That’s why diabetics gets amputated often…

A lot of people have said, ‘you know Gary you are living, walking, talking, dancing and singing mirable’. And I just looked and say, “Yeah”.” Gary shared.

“Kasi, that’s not because of my doing e. I’ve tried to stay healthy but I’ve encountered many episodes honestly. I’m not supposed to be around anymore but I still am.

And I’m not just around. But I’m still in ASAP, I’m now a part of Idol Philippines, I have a tour coming up. I mean it’s like… sometimes I have to look up and say, ‘okay God I’m 57, I wanna be 58 this year. What do I do when the mind says go but the body says no’.”

“Kasi it’s not easy anymore to do what I used to do. But this (pointing to his heart) this has never faded. There’s just so much passion and so much of a desire to still stand on stage…” Gary added.
