Kapamilya star Gerald Anderson has been victimized by a ‘Basag Kotse’ gang in Quezon City.
In a report by Kapuso reporter John Consulta for GMA’s ‘Unang Balita’, a CCTV footage taken along Roces Avenue in Quezon City shown the riding-in-tandem smashing the window of a black SUV which happened to be Gerald’s car, and took two bags. They quickly escaped followed by another motorcycle which served as their lookout.
During the investigation of National Bureau of Investigation-Special Action Unit (NBI SAU), they located and identified the suspects.
“Sa aming pag-iimbestiga, naka-receive kami ng information na ‘yung mga motor na ginamit ay na-identify sa isang Tondo-based na basag kotse group. Nagkaroon kami ng surveillance and casing operations hanggang natunton namin ‘yung bahay ng isa sa mga napuntahan ng gamit ni Gerald Anderson.” NBI SAU Executive Officer Attorney Kristine dela Cruz said.
Base on the report, the authorities recovered one of the expensive bags of Gerald, two watches and some gadgets. However, the wallet, IDs, and passport of Gerald have not yet been recovered.
The suspect named John Allen Dancel alias Elong also confessed and according to him, they didn’t intentionally target the car of Gerald.
Gerald also expressed his gratitude to the authorities.
“Gusto ko pong gamitin ang pagkakataon na ito para magpasalamat po sa NBI lalo na po Special Action Unit. Sobrang salamat po sa dedication, sa perseverance at sa patience para ho mahanap natin po ‘yung mga gumawa ng krimen na ito sa basag kotse na ginawa po sa aking sasakyan.” Gerald said.
