Former Information and Communications Technology Secretary and now senatorial aspirant Gringo Honasan expressed his honest thoughts and sentiments why he decided to join the senatorial slate of presidential aspirant Bongbong Marcos and his running mate, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte..
In the latest ‘Toni Talks’ episode of actress and TV host Toni Gonzaga on YouTube, she featured the former senator for the interview. In the said interview, Honasan shared the reason why he joined the senatorial line-up of Marcos-Duterte tandem.
“Dahil sabi nila, unity. Diba sabi ni BBM. Sabi din ni sen. Lacson, anti-corruption. Sabi ni Sen. Pacquiao, ‘bibigyan ko ng pabahay’. Ngayon, raise hands, sinong ayaw ng unity? Raise your hands. Ang nangyayari kasi, tinitingnan muna natin, sino nagsasalita. Ang dapat na tanungin, ano ba ang sinasabi niya? Sabi ni BBM-Sara, unity, love your country, aba’y sama ako diyan. Kaya inampon ako, independent ako e.” Honasan shared.
Before the end of the video, Toni asks Honasan, “Kailangan ng bansan natin ng pagkakaisa, dahil po?”
“Ang problema kasi akala mo yung kalaban e, yung kalaban mo sa politika. Yung opposing candidate. Ang problema natin na permanente at lumalakas pa by the day, food, clothing, shelter, education, access to data…” Honasan said.
“Employment… So ano pong masasabi niyo dun sa mga kapwa natin Pilipino na nag-aaway away para sa mga kandidato?” Toni asked.
“Aba e simple lang, magtulungan tayo. Konting respeto, konting pagtingin, konting konsiderasyon, konting pagpapatawad. Kahit na anong sabihin, ang unang tanong, sino ba nagsasalita? Anak ba nino yan? Diba yung tatay niya… ganun ang mode natin. Aba’y anong sinasabi ng taong ito? Kahit na sino pa siya.” Honasan said.
“Kaya nga may due process diba, article 3 of the constitution. No person shall be deprived of life, liberty and property without due process. Kung ayaw natin ng due process dahil maubusan tayo ng pasensya, e’di every issue, sinong iko-convict? Sinong may sala? Tipon tipon tayo sa MOA o sa Luneta. ‘O sino ang may ayaw nito, raise your hand’. Paramihan nalang. Pero burahin na natin yung mga korte baka makatipid pa tayo.”
“Kung yun ang gusto natin. O tuwing maubusan tayo ng pasensya, punta tayo sa kalsada, people power. Which has become a, not a very good habit…” Honasan added.
