The recent visit of actor Coco Martin to the senate to see fellow actor and now Senator Lito Lapid has been the talk of the town lately. What is the reason behind the visit? Of course, the press release is that Coco seek the advice of Senator Lapid regarding a new twist of ABS-CBN teleserye “Ang Probinsyano” where Coco and Lapid worked together. Coco played the role of Cardo while Lapid played ‘Pinuno.’
But is that all to it? Just a plot twist discussion?

In an article by Lito Banayo published in Manila Standard, it seems like Senator Lapid is convincing Coco to run for senator in 2020. According to Banayo, there are some friends who were convincing Coco to run for mayor but is contemplating in running for a senate seat.
“You see, friends were egging him to make a run for a coveted mayoralty post come 2022. But conferring with his “pinuno,” he was advised to seek a Senate seat instead.” said the article.
And allegedly, Senator Lapid told Coco: “Mas madali ang trabaho ng senador.”
