On Twitter, Joey became a trending topic online following his statement as he and co-host Allan K was interviewing the contestant about her work as a flight attendant.

Joey told the contestant: “Sana masakyan kita balang araw.”
Netizens then expressed their dismay over Joey’s remark to the female contestant as one user wrote: “joey de leon is trending for the wrong reason again. disappointed but not surprised”

Amid the negative comments, one netizen defended Joey’s remark and wrote: “I don’t see anything wrong with the word ‘sana masakyan kita’ pertaining to Flight Attendant Contestant in EB. Most people say that to those FA they knew or to a Captain related to them. It will only be a Bad joke if you think it Negatively.
