Entertainment columnist Lolit Solis got the ire of Nora Aunor’s fans (Noranians) for her comment about actor Christopher ‘Boyet’ De Leon’s condition. Boyet admitted that he has contacted the COVID-19 virus and is now in self-quarantine.
Boyet is the estranged husband of Aunor.
On her Instagram account, Lolit made a joke on how Boyet can survived the virus given that he survived his relationship with Aunor. Lolit was quick to add that she was only joking but the joke did not sit well with Aunor fans.
“Siguro nga dapat natin gayahin iyon ugali ni Christopher de Leon. Si Christopher dahil sa mga naranasan sa buhay niya always listened to his body. Isang anak ni Boyet ang cancer survivor, si Sandy Andolong ay ang-undergo ng kidney transplant, muntik mamiligro ang buhay niya sa aksidente sa taping niya ng tamaan siya ng blank bullet sa singit at muntik mamatay sa sepsis.
Kaya dahil sa mga pangyayaring ito konti lang feeling of pain or discomfort, takbo agad siya sa doktor. Iyon ang naging dahilan kung bakit maaga niya na detect ang corona virus. Konti sinat at ubo, nagpatingin siya kaagad sa doktor. Iyon sa early stage pa lang detected mo na mas madali ang cure.
Biro ko nga, kung si Nora Aunor nalagpasan mo at kinaya si corona virus pa hindi naman siya superstar. Joke joke, basta alam ko kakayanin ito ni Christopher de Leon, with flying colors.”
Netizens felt that the post or joke of Lolit is like comparing Aunor to the virus. Some view the comment as a disrespect to Aunor who is considered a national treasure for her achievements in the entertainment industry.
