Actor and singer Marlo Mortel warned his fellow celebrities about a person allegedly using his name to gather personal information from other artists.
In an Instagram post, Marlo shared screenshots of the person’s conversation with another artist asking for other celebrities’ contact information for a supposed basketball game between artists from the rival networks.

Marlo then warned other celebrities over the scheme, as well as the perpetrator as he wrote: “YOU WILL PAY FOR THIS. 3 YEARS AGO YOU DID THE SAME THING WITH SEVERAL ACTORS. YOU CALLED AND PRETENDED TO BE ME TO GET INFORMATION AND EVEN SAID NASTY THINGS THAT I TOOK THE BLAME FOR. I MAY HAVE LET YOU OFF THE HOOK BUT THIS TIME IS DIFFERENT. YOU’LL SEE. (NEVER FALL FOR THIS)”
He added in a note included in his photo set: “BEWARE: Please be informed that I’m not reaching out to anyone for a Basketball event using this number ‘0915012****’.
This person has been using my name to contact different celebrities and get personal information.
If YOU don’t stop, I am gonna take legal actions.”
Meanwhile, DJ Jhai Ho also shared his similar experience in the comments section of Marlo’s post and wrote: “Ginamit din name ko before. Ganyang ganyan pero asking for numbers din ng ibat ibang celebs! Kakaloka!!! @marlomortelmusic”
