Maxene Magalona embarks on cookie business

Actress Maxene Magalona shared with everyone that she together with her friends decided to offer vegan cookies. When Maxene stayed in Bali Indonesia, she transitioned to a plant-based diet. Maxene that one of the challenges she faced was to looking for desserts that don’t use refined sugar.

Maxene had to create her own and came the birth of her vegan cookies.

On her Instagram account, Maxene displayed some of her creations with the following caption:

“Have cookies and be kind 🤎

When I first transitioned to a plant-based diet, I had a hard time finding desserts that I liked that didn’t have refined sugar. So in order to make sure that I was eating desserts that only use unrefined sweeteners, I started making my own. I was doing this before I left for Bali and would hand out vegan cookies to my students after each yoga class. I would also bring my cookies to taping and make the cast, staff and crew try them. Thankfully, they liked it!

In Bali, I was in vegan dessert heaven. From decadent ooey gooey chocolate cakes to healthy raw vegan treats, everything was seriously sooo good!

Now that I’m back in Manila, I’ve been spending my time in quarantine baking vegan goodies and sharing them with my loved ones because I really believe that we can all have sweet treats that are guiltless and cruelty-free.

When I gave some vegan cookies to @fmam and @denbuen, they encouraged me to make more so that we can share them with those who would be interested. We decided to team up and start making vegan cookies with the intention of spreading sweetness while raising awareness about the importance of being kind in the world today. We have to consciously remind ourselves that we are all going through a difficult time and choose to be kind to each other as we believe kindness can really help bring some comfort, sweetness and warmth.

Please enjoy these kind vegan cookies baked straight from our hearts to yours”
