Maxene Magalona salutes ‘kababayans’: “for staying strong throughout this pandemic”

Actress Maxene Magalona sent a message to her ‘kababayans’ as she saluted them for staying strong all throughout the COVID-29 pandemic.

In her Instagram account, Maxene posted a black and white photo of her. Maxene shared that she felt ‘better, more hopeful and calm’ amid the quarantine. Maxene also admitted that the first few weeks in lockdown were ‘challenging and frustrating’.

“Current mood in quarantine: Feeling better, more hopeful and calm. 🙏🏼

I have to admit though.. The first few weeks in strict lockdown were so challenging and frustrating! 😱 I can only imagine how difficult and traumatic this must be for so many Filipinos especially since this has been the current reality here for more than a year already. 😓

To my dear kababayans, I salute each and every one of you for staying strong throughout this pandemic. I know the situation here isn’t really ideal but just trust that everything happens for a reason. I believe God is giving us this challenge to help us get out of our comfort zone, become more resilient and grow stronger in our faith. Times like these require a lot of patience and an unlimited supply of hope which is why meditation and prayer have truly been so helpful for me. Meditation helps me stay grounded in the present moment while prayer keeps me connected to God. This daily practice has been so beneficial and healing for me as it helps make my life rich with so much meaning, intention and purpose. 🙏🏼

Hang in there, Philippines! To quote my therapist, “I won’t tell you to stay strong. Instead, I’ll tell you to stay true to yourself. If you’re sad, allow yourself to be sad. Honor your emotions by feeling and accepting them. Honor yourself by allowing yourself to just be.” 🖤” Maxene wrote in the caption.
