Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Asec Celine Pialago addressed her bashers after she and the agency received criticism following the recently conducted nationwide transport strike because of the government’s planned jeepney modernization program.
On her Facebook page, the MMDA Asec gave her message to her bashers and remained firm on their plan, saying they will not let such complaints and strike threaten the government.

She wrote: “Dear bashers, just before I sleep. Please read. ☺️
“What’s wrong with not letting your transport strike being successful? We won’t let you be successful because your intentions are wrong.
“Ang gusto niyong mangyari pilayin ang commuting system at maperwisyo ang mga commuters at taong-bayan. Gusto niyong gawin iyan para marinig kayo at makita ang kahalagaan ng grupo niyo sa transport system ng Metro Manila. Pero sa totoo lang, NANGHOHOSTAGE kayo ng kaginhawaan ng mga commuters.
Pinahihirapan lang ninyo ang kapwa niyo!
“Yung epektong gusto niyong mangyari ang paghihirapan naming pigilan, dahil bukod sa MMDA, pinaghandaan kayo ng ibat ibang local governments.”
Celine then insisted that their main concern is the welfare of the people and their comfortability and safety when commuting.
“We are after the welfare of the people, at sa pagkakataong ito, mahalaga sa amin na hindi na kayo dumagdag pa sa araw-araw ng hirap na dinaranas ng mga commuters.
“Let me also remind you na yung programang pinoprotesta niyo ay PUV Modernization, programa na naglalayon na pagandahin ang sistema at kondisyon ng mga jeepney sa bansa. Ang intensyon nito alisin ang mga kakarag karag na unit ng jeepney, gawing komportable ang sakayan ng lahat ng Pilipino, maging safe para sa lahat, environment friendly at hindi yung nagbubuga ng maitim na usok. Itong programang ito pa ba ang masama ngayon? And you have the nerve to complain!
“Despite the good intentions of the government, puro reklamo lang ang kaya niyong gawin. Nasasanay kayong gobyerno ang mag aadjust sa lahat ng reklamo niyo particularly dito sa PUV Modernization Program. You can never threaten the government. You should follow the system and if you have complaints, follow the protocol. And don’t ever tell us that making your transport strike unsuccessful is clamping down on freedom of expression. Nakapag-strike na kayo, may freedom kayo. Pero hindi kayo entitled para pagbigyan ang gusto ninyo.
“Hindi namin kayo bibigyan ng ganung satisfaction, hindi namin ibibigay sa inyo ang satisfaction na makapagperwisyo sa taong bayan. Wala akong babawiin sa mga sinabi ko at tuloy-tuloy ang serbisyo namin sa taong-bayan.
