Nadine Lustre says it is not her responsibility to greet people in public: “I don’t know you”

Actress Nadine Lustre expressed her honest thoughts and sentiments to those who were calling her ‘snobbish’.

In an episode of ‘Kwentong Barber’ hosted by Kapamilya star Edward Barber, Nadine was featured for an interview. During the interview, Nadine opened up about the challenges that she faced on finding her own identity. Nadine also shared that she got depressed as she can’t expressed herself.

“All of the things that I love. All of the things that I want to be, I started questioning them… Like everything got blurry. I got really depressed because I couldn’t really express myself. Like when people see me, I was a different person. I wasn’t Nadine, like, the real Nadine. I was someone else…” Nadine shared.

Later on, Edward shared that he understood Nadine’s sentiments as he related it when an actor didn’t pay attention to someone, they might interpret it that the actor is ‘snob’.

Nadine agreed to Edward as she shared that she doesn’t feel the ‘responsibility’ to greet others in public.

“That’s not just for, you know, the people that you work with. It’s also for like, people outside… Kasi I was never the type to say hi to everyone or smile to everyone or wave, because I don’t know you. I don’t know you. I mean, I never had parang the feeling of responsibility when it comes to saying hi to everyone…” Nadine said.

“I do know that there are people who are like that, but it was never my thing because it’s just to me, it was weird.” Nadine added.

Nadine later on recalled the time when someone called her ‘suplada’ while she was at a mall.

“I was walking around the mall and then, like passing lang, and then I think one of the shops, there is this one person, a lady and she said, ‘suplada naman’. And I’m like, I looked at her and I’m like, am I supposed to say hi to you? Like, I don’t know you…” Nadine shared.

According to Nadine, the said lady didn’t even greet her.

“She was expecting me to say hi to her and I’m like, if you want me to say hi to you, say hi to me or acknowledge me or greet me. I’m not gonna go out of my way to say hi to you.” Nadine said.
