A mixture of both positive and negative gain outcomes from the statement of President Rodrigo Duterte in addressing the conference last March 30, 2020.
Following the statement “Napakasuwerte nila, namatay sila para sa bayan”, Duterte’s speech was intended to give honor to the frontliners amidst the battle against the COVID-19 pandemic. However, some people focused upon the negative impression of the statement and gave harsh comments on social media as exposed in the official Instagram account of ABS-CBN News.

Looking at the bright side of comments, there are still some who looks at the statement rationally – claiming that it is his way of recognizing frontliners as heroes; and instead of bashing the government alone, what would be helpful is to support the administration in any possible way.
Duterte is known for his reckless humor in his inconsequential way of speech. Though, we can’t deny that it often results to offending some people, the Ppresident always has, which often results to offending some people a stand for every action and decision he firmly believes in.
