Talent manager and broadcaster Ogie Diaz recalled the time when filmmaker Joel Lamangan shouted at actress Marjorie Barretto when they were doing a film titled “Anghel na walang langit” way back year 1994.
Ogie shared the said incident in his “Ogie Diaz Showbiz Update” latest vlog with Mama Loi.
“Ang role ni Marjorie Barretto ay isa siyang prostitute, ako naman yung kasama ni Marjorie Barretto na isa namang bugaw. So nandun na kame eh hinahabol namen na wag mag, na gabi padin pero pa alas singko na so mag liliwanag na…” Ogie said.
Ogie shared that Marjorie needed to cry in the scene while they were walking.
“Hindi dapat abutan ng araw kasi gabi yung eksena. So ang nakakaloka nito Loi eh nung kami ay lumalakad… ‘cut! Ano ba?!’ dyusko sumugod si direk. Sumugod si direk saaming dalawa. Tense ako super lumalagutok yung mga mura…. ‘Anong klase kang artista? Sana hindi ka na lang nag-artista! Mas magaling pa sa’yo ang mga kapatid mo!’…” Ogie said.
Ogie also shared the Direk Joel compared the showbiz status of Marjorie to her sisters, Claudine and Gretchen Barretto.
“’Kaya pala hanggang ngayon hindi ka sumisikat, yung mga kapatid mo sikat na, ikaw nandiyan pa rin! Hindi ka kasi marunong umarte’… naloko ako, eh hindi ako sanay sa ganyan hindi ba… hindi kasi nakakaiyak si Marjorie pero habang naririnig niya yung mga ano, kinukumpara sa mga kapatid niya si Gretchen saka kay Claudine…” Ogie shared.
Ogie shared that after the fierce words that Marjorie received from direk Joel, Marjorie got emotional and she delivered the required scene. Ogie also shared that direk Joel commended Marjorie after she was able to do the required scene.
“Bumalik si direk Joel, ‘cut! Very good!’…” Ogie laughingly said.
Mama Loi also can’t help but laugh as he said “motivation lang pala….”
