Ogie Diaz shares opinion on singing competitions: “Iba ang singing contest sa shouting contest, ha?”

Comedian and talent manager Ogie Diaz shared his sentiments about singing competitions and how some tend to become a ‘shouting competition’ where winners are chosen based on the intensity of their song piece and performance.

On his Facebook account, Ogie aired his opinion over singing competitions and shared what he would do if given a chance to become a judge.

Ogie wrote: “Iba ang singing contest sa shouting contest, ha?”

“Kung ako ang judge, sasabihin ko yung totoo basta constructive. Kung puro puri, di na nila alam kung ano ii-improve nila. #AkoLangNamanIto✌️,” he added in a separate post.

Ogie’s posts drew reaction from netizens who also gave their opinion regarding the matter.

One netizen commented: “Ewan ko ba…. bakit nga ba ine-equate nila na ang singing contest ay para sa mga biritera lamang kaya pinipilit nilang makipagtaasan ng boses. Nakalimutan na nila na ang pinaka importante ay may puso at tamang hagod sa pag-awit.”

Another Facebook user wrote: “Sabi nga ni Frank Sinatra sa kanta nya . . Making noise, not melody 😁”

One user also gave her opinion, saying: “Yung iba kasi basta makabirit lang eh,hindi naman kailangan sumigaw at bumirit ng bumirit para sabihin na magaling na singer..just saying..😃😝”
