Pasig raises ₱1.2 billion to buy tablets and laptops for online learning

Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto announched that the local government was able to raised ₱1.2 billion to purchase laptops and tablets for use in public schools in preparation for online learning in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In exchange, Mayor Vico is asking students to enroll and not stop their education.

“mag-enroll po kayo, ‘wag kayong tumigil sa pag-aaral, ‘yan lang po ‘yung hinihingi ko sa inyo,” Sotto said.

“Sayang po yung pagkakataon. Kasi yung iba nababalitaan ko baka mag-stop muna ng pag-aaral. Wag po. Wala kayong extra na gastos dito, papasok lang po kayo, mag-enroll lang po kayo tapos kami na po bahala sa distance learning,” added Sotto.
