Pia Wurtzbach to angry fans from Vietnam: “I wasn’t being sarcastic or questioning your win at all!”

Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach addressed the angry Vietnamese pageant fans over her remark after Vietnam representative Nguyen Tran Khanh Van received the highest number of votes from fans to enter the Top 21 in the 69th Miss Universe pageant.

It can be recalled that according to the said beauty pageant’s host Olivia Culpo, Miss Vietnam has the “highest votes in pageant history”.

In her Twitter account, Pia expressed her thoughts and opinions over the announcement.

“Mas maraming pageant fans sa Vietnam kesa sa Pilipinas? 🤯🤯 #MissUniverse” Pia tweeted.

The said remark of Pia caught the attention of Vietnamese pageant fans as they expressed their dismay and slams Pia over her tweet.

Later on, Pia clarified her remark as she tweeted the following:

“Woah! Woke up to so many angry fans from Vietnam! I think some of you misunderstood my tweet last night! 🙏❤ I didn’t mean any harm by it at all! #MissUniverse #MissUniverseVietnam”

“For years I was told (and I believed) that the Philippines had the most pageant fans in the world. But yesterday Vietnam got the highest votes in history! Which meant I was wrong. Which surprised me! Thats it!! Thats all I meant by my tweet! 🙏”

“I wasn’t being sarcastic or questioning your win at all! Hope this clears it up 🙏 Congratulations Vietnam for the highest votes in Miss Universe history! ❤ #MissUniverse #MissUniverseVietnam”
