The Philippine National Police (PNP) said that it will be reviewing its Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with ABS-CBN after the television series ‘Ang Probinsyano’ topbilled by Coco Martin aired its sensitive scene showing two female cops being raped by members of a criminal syndicates.
In a report by Inquirer, PNP Deputy Spokesperson PLTCOL Kimberly Molitas said that they will be looking into their MOU with the network which both parties signed last November 2018 where the PNP restored its support to the show, allowing them to use police uniforms with supervision.
“In light of the concern raised by netizens and police officers on ‘Ang Probinsyano’ scene where policewomen in uniform were being harassed and raped, we will talk to the production staff of ABS-CBN and look at possible violation of our existing Memorandum of Understanding,” Molitas said in a statement.
“Depending on the extent of the violation we may warn them or rescind the said MOU,” she added.
