Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo shared that she considered the earrings that was lent to her by Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach as her ‘agimat’.
In a virtual interview for ‘GMA Digital Specials’ with Cata Tibayan, Rabiya opened up about her preparations for the upcoming Miss Universe competition. Rabiya also expressed for all the lover and support that she has been receiving.
During the interview, Rabiy also shared the advice that she received from Pia.
“She told me, dahil malapit na yung competitions, ‘don’t stalk your co-candidates’. Dapat focus ka nalang, stay on your lane, run like a horse with blinders. Ganun ka dapat, because it’s gonna add some pressure to you eh. Baka isipin mo you’re not enough. This is your moment to shine and wag mo ita-try ipasok yung sarili mo sa mold ng ibang beauty queens. Iba sila, iba ka. This is your time to show the universe who Rabiya is. And that is a privilege.” Rabiya shared.
Rabiya also shared that Pia lent her an earrings and she considered it as her ‘agimat’.
“Pinahiram ako ni ms. Pia Wurtzbach ng hikaw. So para ko siyang agimat na dala-dala. Sobrang bait niya talaga. Pinagkakatiwala niya yung earrings niya saakin.” Rabiya shared.
