Raffy Tulfo on growing up with siblings: “laki kasi kami sa bugbog”

TV broadcaster Raffy “Idol” Tulfo shared how his parents, particularly his father disciplined him and his siblings.

In the latest YouTube vlog of TV broadcaster Karen Davila, she featured Raffy for an interview when she visited his home in Novaliches. According to Raffy, the said house is a rental property. In the vlog, Raffy gave a tour around the house.

During the interview, Raffy talked about his struggles in the past. Raffy also shared how his father disciplined him and his siblings.

“Nambubugbog yung father ko, just because pasaway kami. Hindi naman siya nambubugbog ng walang dahilan. Kasi pasaway naman talaga kami, makulit, hindi naniniwala, hindi nakukuha sa isang salita. Bugbog ang aabutin.” Raffy shared.

“Marami ang nagtatanong bakit ganyan ang Tulfo brothers, ang tapang, laging galit, puro palaban. So nanggagaling ba ‘to from a childhood experience?” Karen asked Raffy.

“Laki kasi kami sa bugbog. And then we were trained not to tell our parents kapag meron kaming kaaway, kapag binubully kami, we just shut up. Keep it to yourself. Pag nag sumbong kami, pagagalitan pa kami… pag binubully kami, quiet nalang…” Raffy said.

Later on, Karen shared that she felt that his father’s way of disciplining them left a big impact on them.

“Do you believe that if you had it another way, sana wala nalang?” Karen asked Raffy.

“True, correct. Dapat hindi na sinasaktan yung mga bata, I believe in that. Pwede naman madaan sa diplomasya. Kasi habang sinasaktan mo yung mga bata, lalong nagrebelde para saakin. Saka yung pananakit kasi, oh paluin ka, masakit mahapdi, and then mamaya, bukas niyan wala na. Gagawa ulet.” Raffy said.

“Pag kinausap mo, diplomasya, tumatalab yan sa puso at sa utak…” Raffy added.
