Raquel Pempengco, mother of Charice Pempengco (now known as ‘Jake Zyrus’) shared her thoughts and opinion in the recently concluded concert of international composer David Foster.
David had a concert in the Philippines where local singers like Martin Nievera and Morissette Amon performed.
In a Facebook post, Raquel said Charice’s voice is still unique and one of a kind. She also revealed that David rejected Charice and it was actually Oprah Winfrey who made Charice famous.

Talagang wala pa ring ipapalit sa alaska.’ Alm ko ang mga timbre ng boses na hinahanap mo DF..sinabi ko nman sa inyo noon pa…nag iisa lang ang boses na yan. Kahit kanino mo pa ipakanta yang song mo.. Di mabbgyan ng hustista.

At para sa kaalaman ng lahat. Hinde po si DF ang nagpasikat sa kanya kundi si OPRAH…nireject nga noon ni DF si Charice. Kaya wag umasa na may isasama pa…masasaktan lang…”
