Actress Rita Avila defended fellow actress Angel Locsin from critics after a ‘plus size’ Darna artwork was posted online. Rita felt sorry for those who chose to criticize Angel rather than celebrate Angel’s confidence and acceptance.

“Natanggap ko ang picture na ito ni @therealangellocsin as darna. Ni-crop ko na lang dahil d ko alam ang tunay na dahilan ng nagpadala ng buong picture ng present body shape nya in a darna costume.
Ang sabi ko sa nagpadala ay maganda ang pagtanggap ni Angel sa kanyang katawan. Sa mga makapintas lang, kawawa naman kayo. So many are celebrating Angel’s confidence and acceptance.
