Senator Ronald ‘Bato’ Dela Rosa reacted to allegations made by actress Gretchen Barretto in relation to his inquiry about the issue of cockfighting.
Gretchen alleged that the senator is also into cockfighting. The actress also questioned the expensive watch of the senator and said that the senator was simply grandstanding during the inquiry.
“Yung unang-una sinabi niya mahal daw yung relo ko. Bakit siya lang ba may karapatan na magsuot ng 85,000 na halaga ng relo? Bakit hindi pala ako pwede? Mahal talaga yun para sa akin, pero sa kanila, ewan ko kung talagang totoong mahal sa kanila yun.” answered Senator Dela Rosa about the expensive watch.
About the allegations that he himself is a ‘sabungero’:
“Tapos sasabihin pa na mayroon daw akong utang sa… sabi niya may balance daw ako? Paano ako magkaka-balance never naman akong nagsusugal. Never naman akong nagsasabong. Never in my life, kahit once na, nag-bet ako sa sabong. Hindi nangyari sa buhay ko yan.” the senator said.
“Never I have wanted to grandstand in any of my… anything that has to with my performance on the job. I never grandstand. Ako, galit na galit ako sa mga grandstanding na mga senador, grandstanding ng mga congressman. Ayoko niyon… kaya I don’t know kung nag-grandstanding ba ako pero, it was not, never in my intention na mag-grandstanding ako.” added the senator.
Senator Dela Rosa said that the allegations made by Gretchen were designed to simply attack his character.
