Sen. Joel Villanueva on BIR’s plan to tax online sellers: “Wala na ngang ayuda, i t-tax nyo pa”

The Bureau of Internal Revenue released a Revenue Memorandum Circular No. 60-2020 requiring all online sellers to register their online business and to declare all their transactions for it will be subject to tax.

According to a tweet by GMA News, the BIR has set a date of compliance until July 31, 2020. Online sellers who will fail to comply on or before the given date will be penalized according to the revenue rules and regulations.

Senator Joel Villanue reacted to the said memo and tweeted the following:

“On BIR taxing online sellers: Pasalamat nga tayo at madiskarte ang mga Pilipino. Wala na ngang ayuda, i t-tax nyo pa. Hindi naman milyon milyon ang kinikita ng maliliit na online sellers. #PusoNaman”
