Actress Sharon Cuneta became emotional during a press conference organized by Roselle Monteverde of Regal Films, held in support of Kiko Pangilinan’s candidacy for senator in the upcoming 2025 midterm elections.
Sharon could not hold back her tears as she shared her true sentiments about politics:
“I never liked politics. Kasi nga, in the Philippines, pagkaganda-ganda man ng intensyon mo, pagkaayos-ayos man ng puso mo, natatalo ka ng fake news saka budget na bilyon-bilyon ng ibang kandidato — na wala naman kami.” started Sharon.
“Bakit po ba ayaw nyong iboto si Kiko? Ano po yung mga doubts ninyo? Kasi lahat ng kasinungalingang nilalabas against him, may resibo kaming katapat. Mayroon kaming magpapasawalang-katotohanan du’n sa mga binibintang nila, sa mga paninira nila.” Sharon continued.
“Siguro, bilang asawa niya at nanay ng mga anak niya, ang pride namin ay yung matinong pagkatao. Wala namang perpekto, ‘di ba? Lalo na sa showbiz, Diyos ko po. Pero maayos kaming pinalaki ng mga magulang namin.” said Sharon.
“Kiko doesn’t have a lot, but everything he has, he gives to us. This is also his heart for the country. Di naman kami yumaman sa politika. He served for over two decades. Wala kaming inasenso. Nagtatrabaho pa rin kami.” Sharon added.
“I am so blessed to have a husband like Kiko. He never hurts me and he is a good father also. He might not have a lot but he would still give everything for them. At higit sa lahat, Kiko has a big heart for the Philippines at sa lahat ng mga Pilipino.” Sharon said.
