Toni Gonzaga on Alex’s YouTube channel: “was supposed to be our channel”

Actress and TV host Toni Gonzaga revealed that the YouTube channel of her sister, actress and vlogger Alex Gonzaga was supposed to be their YouTube channel.

Alex is one of the most famous content creators in the Philippines as her YouTube channel has reached more than 10.8 million subscribers as of writing.

In an interview with social media personality and vlogger Wil Dasovich, Toni opened up on why she decided to open her own YouTube channel. During the interview, Toni shared that Alex’s YouTube channel was supposed to be their channel.

“Originally, si Alex yung YouTube channel niya was supposed to be our channel. I remember that, 2017 she was in my house nasa dining area kami and wala na siyang show. Tinggalan siya ng show sa network namin and she got so depressed she was so down. And then I remember Winnie Wong… told her that ‘why don’t you open your own YouTube channel so at least you’re doing something’.” Toni shared.

According to Toni, Winnie explained to Alex how the platform works.

“So si Alex was telling me in out dining are, ‘ate mag open tayo ng YouTube channel. Sige na, tayong dalawa’. And then I was like, what will I do there, I still have you know I’m busy with my mainstream job sa television and the movies and all that. And then she was saying, ‘kasi pag ako lang walang manunuod saakin kailangan kita.’ Ganun pa siya.” Toni said.

“Sabi niya, ‘kailangan kita para may manuod saakin’. Sabe ko, ‘ha? Hindi ako pang YouTube.’ Kasi feeling ko in person or in real life, I’m a boring person… I’m not as loud as my sister and I’m not that funny like my sister. So yun, she was encouraging me na mag open kami ng YouTube channel.”

“Until she said, ‘sige mag o-open ako, ako nalang pero ikaw ang guest ko’. So yung first ever vlog niya nag guest ako, minakeupan niya ako. That was the first parang ever ever entry niya duon sa YouTube channel niya.” Alex added.
