Actress and vlogger Alex Gonzaga shared the reaction of her sister actress and TV host Toni Gonzaga when she told her to defend herself from all the bashing and accusations that she has been receiving recently.
In her latest episode of ‘Ano Na Catherine Podcast’ on YouTube, Alex shared the advices that she got from her sister Toni.
“Recently, my sister who everyone loves and who everyone thinks na she has a better personality than mine was under fire, charing, was talked about and then she was really painted as a bad guy to some people or most people duon sa kanyang ginagalawan.
Kasi before, pagka may mali akong sasabihin na hindi mo talaga mini-mean, may mga times na meron kang sasabihin na sobrang hindi mo iniisip yung bagay na masama or insensitive issue na gusto mo lang magpatawa or iba talaga yung naiisip mo, wala kang ganun. Tapos laging na ba-bad joke o laging, ‘ha? Insensitive mo naman’. Ako yun lagi…” Alex shared.
Alex clarified that it was just her personality to joke around and she didn’t mean to hurt or offend anyone. Alex also shared a story where she apologized to someone as that someone got offended at her joke.
“So I told my sister and then my sister said na parang, ‘mali kasi yung ginawa mo dapat hindi ka ganun. Hindi mo sinasabi yun’. Sabi ko, ‘ate sorry akala ko close kami’, ‘yan nga e lagi kang akala.’
So napagalitan niya ako. So lagi akong, ‘ate anong gagawin ko? I have to explain them I have to say sorry’. ‘O nag apologize ka na kung ayaw mo tanggapin yung apology mo and then fine. Wala ka ng kailangang gawin.’ So lagi akong may urge na lagi kong kailangang i-explain yung sarili ko, kailangan kong i-defend…” Alex shared.
Later on, Alex shared that there was a time when she told her sister to defend herself from her bashers.
“Yung sister ko yung napunta sa ganung sitwasyon recently. And after that sabi ko, ‘ate I think you should explain, I think kailangan basagin mo ang katahimikan mo and then kailangan sabihin mo sakanila yung mali na accusations nila. Show proof that it’s wrong. And just defend yourself.’” Alex shared.
“Ang sabi niya saakin, ‘they don’t deserve an answer’ taray talaga ng ate ko. ‘Silence is the best answer, kasi whatever I say, I really don’t value their opinion’ yun ang sinasabi niya saakin. ‘If somebody hurts you, it means you value their opinion and you value them as a person. But if you don’t know them, you won’t value their opinion.’” Alex added.
