TV host Vice Ganda together with singer actress Karylle shared their opinions about the sentiments of family members of corrupt government officials.
During It’s Showtime’s segment “Reina ng Tahanan”, contestant Ellen Baccay was asked the following question: “Would you allow your son or daughter to date a corrupt official?”
“Sa abot nang aking makakaya, kung talagang corrupt yung government official na yon, babawalan ko sya.
Ayoko yung magiging anak nya kakain galing sa corruption, hindi ko tinuro yon. Kasi pag ka yun yung napangasawa nya, kahit na anong sabihin mo, yung magiging anak niya, magtatanong, at yun din ang gagawin. Kaya sa abot nang aking makakaya, ipaglalaban ko siya na wag yon,” Baccay answered.
Vice and Karylle agreed with Baccay’s answer and wonder how these officials can explain to their grandchildren that their wealth came from corruption.
Paano nga naman niya i-explain sa mga apo niya yun, nakakahiya!” said Karylle.
“Yun ang iniisip ko, ano kaya ang nararamdaman nung mga anak ng mga corrupt officials?” Vice asked.
Karylle then said “Paano sila nabubuhay?” to which Vice replied “Correct, at tsaka paano nila dine-deny sa sarili nila.”
“Paano mo ire-revise yon? At tsaka paano kunyari kung naging nanay ka na tapos tatay mo corrupt. Paano kapag tinanong ng anak mo sa yo na ‘corrupt ba yung lolo ko?’ Paano mo sasabihin sa anak mo na ‘oo corrupt yung lolo mo,'” Vice added.
Karylle then asked Vice if he can do it, to which Vice answered “Hindi ko alam pero hindi ako jojowa ng corrupt.”
