TV host Vice Ganda expressed his opinion in relation to those who are insisting that they are doing everything that they are doing in order to secure a franchise for ABS-CBN.
Last 2020, Congress denied the franchise application of ABS-CBN, citing several issues on the network’s franchise.
The National Telecommunications Commission granted the Manny Villar-owned Advanced Media Broadcasting System Inc. (AMBS) a “test broadcast” permit to use the coveted channel 2 spectrum.
In an episode of “It’s Showtime,” Vice asked a contestant if there is something he wanted to tell the next President. The contestant said that jobs will be given back to those who lost their job in ABS-CBN due to the denial of its franchise.
Vice answered it this way:
“Para lang po sa kaalaman ng nakararami, wala na po kaming inaasahang prangkisa dahil ‘yung dati namin prangkisa meron na pong nagmamay-ari noon. Wala na po kaming hinahabol na dating prangkisa dahil ang prangkisa namin ay may nagmamay-ari na at pagmamay-arian nila ‘yan nang ilang dekada. ‘Yung sinasabi nilang ‘Ang habol, ang gusto lang namin’ — wala na pong inapply na franchise ang,” said Vice.
“So malinaw yan ha, dun sa mga shunga-shungahan na troll, is no longer after any franchise… Wala na po kaming inaasahan, tapos na po ‘yung chapter na ‘yon.” Vice added.
