Vice President Leni Robredo reacted to a bill filed by Presidential son and Deputy Speaker Paolo Duterte and two other House leaders to change the Ninoy Aquino International Airport to ‘Paliparang Pandaigdig ng Pilipinas’.
During her online interview with CNN Philippines’ The Source, VP Robredo branded it as “ill-timed” considering that the country is still fighting the coronavirus pandemic.
“Nasa gitna tayo ng pandemya, ito pa talaga maiisip natin,” said VP Robredo. “Number one it’s ill-timed. Number two, alam naman natin why it was named Ninoy Aquino International Airport. So ‘yung tanong: Where is our sense of history?” asked Robredo.
“When I first read about it, pinakatanong ko sa sarili ko – ngayon pa talaga na dapat all hands on deck tayo na nagtutulong tulong para masugpo yung pandemya, ngayon pa ung maiisipan.” ended VP Robredo.
