Celebrated dermatologist and doctor to the stars Dr. Vicki Belo can’t help but be emotional as she opened up on why she doesn’t want to be greeted on her birthdays.
In the latest YouTube vlog of Talent manager and broadcaster Ogie Diaz, he featured Vicki for an interview. In the said interview, Vicki opened up about her personal life.
One of the questions asked by Ogie was, “Dok pag sumasapit ang birthday mo parang gusto mong malayo dito sa manila or dahil ayaw mong maalala yung birthday mo. Ayaw mo kaming mag gi-greet sayo yung mga friends mo. Bakit?”
“Kasi ever since I was young feeling ko, cause specially I’m adopted lang, parang pinamigay kasi talaga ko. Nung ipinanganak ako, never akong hinawakan ng nanay ko… So in my head, it was not a happy, parang pinanganak ka palang, pinamigay ka na. So when I think of that since I have so many issues about adoption, about not being good enough, about not being loveable. I thought I don’t like to be greeted.” Vicki emotionally shared.
“Kasi pag naremember ko birthday, diba ‘happy birthday’, sino namang happy sa birthday ko? I mean in my head, my mom and dad gave me on my birthday. So, wala bumabalik lang talaga ang pain. So I just ignore. The best gift that you can give me is not to greet me…”
“Pag birthday ko lang talaga super sensitive. Kasi the rest of the days hindi naman ako ganun eh. Pero pag birthday ko talaga parang, ayan nanaman andiyan nanaman yung dragona na nag-aano saakin. I accept it na, one day lang naman yun eh so kaya ko na yun palampasin…” Vicki added.
