Former TV5 news and weather anchor and The Manila Times columnist Joseph “Seph” Holandes Ubalde passed away on April 1, as confirmed by his sister Shyrl Ann Ubalde. He was 34.
In a report by manilatimes.net, police report said that Seph was found dead at 5:30 p.m. inside the bathroom of his hotel room at the Shangri-la Hotel at The Fort in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.

According to the report, hotel security checked on the former anchor after a caller informed them that he was not answering his phone.
Seph’s cause of death is yet to be determined but an in-house doctor said that he died on the spot.
Meanwhile, Seph shared his last Instagram post earlier on the same day of his passing— a photo of him under a waterfall with the caption that says “Freedom.”
Seph’s remains lie in state at the Loyola Memorial Chapels in Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City.
