What was meant to be a standard story conference for the upcoming mystery-drama film 40 Days quickly transformed into a theater of raw, real-life family drama. A visibly shaken and emotional Lotlot de Leon broke her silence, directly confronting her brother, Ian de Leon, over what she fiercely labeled as “lies” broadcasted on national television regarding the estate of their late mother, the legendary Superstar and National Artist Nora Aunor.
Before unleashing a lifetime of pent-up frustration, Lotlot first turned to her director, Louie Ignacio, and her co-stars—including industry veterans Dina Bonnevie, Snooky Serna, and Elizabeth Oropesa—to apologize profusely for hijacking the film’s media event.
But for Lotlot, the tipping point had arrived.
The catalyst for the outburst was Ian’s recent interview on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda. During the broadcast, Ian—the only biological child of Nora Aunor and Christopher de Leon—claimed that he had duly informed his adoptive siblings (Lotlot, Matet, Kenneth, and Kiko) about his plans to establish a One Person Corporation (OPC) to manage their mother’s vast legacy and estate.
Lotlot flatly denied this, her voice trembling with a mixture of grief and fury.
“Enough! Enough with the lies!” Lotlot fired back, directly addressing her brother through the media cameras. “Tahimik ako, tahimik si Matet, si Kiko, at si Ken. Wala na kaming sinasabi, and then you go out on a TV show and tell everyone na sinabi mo sa amin, which is not true.”
“He can have it all,” Lotlot stressed, wiping away tears. “Wala akong hinihingi, wala kaming hinihingi. Wala akong inaagaw. Sapat na sa akin na matawag kong mommy si Nora Aunor. Sapat na napalaki ako ng isang Superstar. Sapat na nabigyan niya ako ng pangalan ni Mommy. He can have it all!”
According to Lotlot, she had previously approached Ian to pitch a non-profit foundation to honor their mother’s philanthropic spirit.
