The Pod Network (TPN) has officially announced the termination of its contract with the controversial podcast Machong Chismisan, removing the show from its roster effective immediately.
The drastic move follows widespread public outcry and severe backlash over a recent episode titled “S29E20: Ang Pagbabalik ni Kris Aquino,” during which the podcast hosts made offensive and mocking remarks directed at Joshua “Josh” Aquino, the eldest son of veteran multimedia personality Kris Aquino.
In a definitive statement released on October 15, 2026, TPN declared:
“We have formally terminated our contract with the Machong Chismisan podcast, and are consequently removing the show from the network, effective immediately.”
The network previously emphasized that while creators speak in their own voices, platforms carry a responsibility to uphold basic standards of dignity, particularly regarding vulnerable groups. TPN noted that it is actively formalizing stricter editorial guidelines across all its programs concerning disability, mental health, minors, and family members of public figures.
In the wake of the incident, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) also issued a stern warning against content creators and public personalities who demean or mock persons with disabilities (PWDs), reminding creators that digital platforms carry social obligations and that respect for neurodivergent individuals is non-negotiable.
